Set within the landscaped gardens, the Holburne Garden Café is the winner of the 2012 category best UK restaurant or bar within another space in the 2012 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards. Designed by Softroom, it is a light and open annexe to The Holburne Museum.
The natural materials, from the wooden panelling to the slate flooring along with the green tinted ceiling tiles, create the impression that you’re still outside within the greenery. The row of teardrop hanging pendant lights are from lighting manufacturer Original BTC.
Long blue Axel sofas from Montis create a cosy and inviting corner, while glass orb Selene lamps from ClassiCon appear to hover ethereally in the background.
The contemporary mesh Elbow chairs are from Carl Hansen, whilst the more relaxed cream sofas, this time from Varaschin are arranged alongside the glass walls.
The exterior of the building, a striking glass structure, is part of the renovation by Eric Parry Architects. Whilst being a modern addition, it only enhances the Museum that has been a feature of this historic spa town since the early twentieth century.
