Q1. How do you think food and interior design are linked?
The greatest examples are where the two disciplines sit harmoniously through a strong narrative and relationship to the place in which they sit.
Q2. What’s foremost in your mind when appointing a new designer?
There are no shortcuts in creating great design. Creative flair and plain hard work are what I look for having been sat on sides of the table.
Q3. Other than your own, which restaurant do you admire for innovative design?
The house cafes in Istanbul by Autoban manage to tap into the vibe and energy of this vibrant city and a place that is having its time.
Q4. Which was your favorite shortlisted project from judging this year’s awards?
The Atrium Champagne Bar at the Me hotel in London is one of the few spaces I have seen recently that took my breath away.
Q5. Which aspect of this year’s awards ceremony are you looking forward to the most?
Seeing some of our new designers & friends being recognized for their outstanding work.
