Designed by Paola Navone, La Sirena at Point Yamu by COMO is a large light-filled space surrounded by the magnificent landscape of Phuket. The colours are those of the sea, with infinite shades of blue and turquoise. There is a beautiful pizza oven in a tower-like structure covered with small turquoise ceramic tiles, made using a local technique.

Large woven rattan, ironically out of scale, cover the long bar and form large discs hanging from the ceiling – giving different proportions to the space. Black and white cement tiles decorate the floor like an oversized chessboard.

One side of the restaurant is covered with white china in different shapes and sizes resembling small paintings while the other faces the infinity-pool with large floor to ceiling windows providing a stunning vista.

Descending from the ceiling are cylindrical lamps in several rows. Throughout the restaurant the dominant colour palette is black and white, with matte and glossy surfaces mixed in a natural and simple way. Turquoise and blue accents are dotted around the space.

Everything is designed especially for the restaurant and made by local craftsmen including the letters of the restaurant name “La Sirena” which are hand-made out of woven natural fibre.
