North West architecture and interior design practice, DV8 revealed their creative direction for a Manchester-based bar and kitchen, The Crafty Pig. Commissioned by Enterprise Inns, DV8 Designs was responsible for the quirky overhaul of this addition to the Northern Quarter.
MD Lee Birchall and his team at DV8 carried out a series of architectural and interior developments, in order to create an original design, while paying homage to sister brand, The Blind Pig.
The objective was to produce a welcoming urban hub that echoes the attributes of The Blind Pig, whilst adding in signature characteristics to make the new site stand out from the crowd.
Drawing inspiration from graffiti and surrounding artwork from across the globe the studio enlisted the help of award winning local artist and illustrator Ben Tallon, to incorporate a street style into the interior design.
Throughout the venue, DV8 used an earthy colour palette to reflect an industrial aesthetic. This was combined with a multitude of distressed, decorative elements on the walls, furniture and fittings. The result creatively mirrors the proposed brief.
We are extremely grateful to have been invited by Enterprise Inns to develop proposals for a series of eclectic projects. As every design is unique and personal, we are very much looking forward to coming up with a range of creative strategies that will bring ideas to life.
