The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards Multiple Bar/ Club category is for projects located in the UK that have more than one site. Each site needs to have it’s own unique touches, and yet must be familiar to diners as the brand they know and love. Just five entries made the judge’s shortlist.
Adventure Bar now has three locations with this Clapham Junction, London entry designed by Mystery.
Mystery created a concept which split the building into a kitsch 1970s lounge and a Victorian ‘steam punk’ bar. Tables were designed to fold up in the evenings to maximise standing room. The diver’s helmet lighting, curiosities and fold up tables were an asset to the long narrow location, creating a busy weekend venue and effectively meeting the brief for a social media talking point.
It was designed from the ground up, as designers Michaelis Boyd Associates were given an empty shell to work with. The design echoes the origins of brewery integrating authentic steel shipping containers, a cast concrete bar and mesh screens with neon signage.
Dirty Martini is set in a basement on Lovat Lane, Monument and challenged Grapes Design to create the right ambience with a clever use of lighting.
The historic status of the building, which was once a bank, has been carefully accentuated by Harrison resulting in a tradition finish and modern execution.
Generator’s flagship London location opened in 1995 and was due for a refurbishment.
DesignAgency layered experiences and styles to form a cohesive interior while encouraging exploration.
